North Star Provides Rapid Reentry Funds in Cuyahoga County

The Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry has collaborated with North Star Neighborhood Reentry Resource Center (NRRC) to provide emergency funding to support formerly incarcerated individuals and their families facing housing insecurity.

The Rapid Reentry Housing Assistance offers direct payments to landlords and utility companies on behalf of individuals recently released from incarceration (jail/including pretrial defendants posting bond; prison, halfway house, or CBCF). The funds are allocated to address outstanding debts, cover security deposits, or assist with the first month's rent.

Applicants have 12 months after release from incarceration to apply for funds as long as funds are available. Eligibility for participation is determined through assessments conducted by North Star NRRC and its partners.

All applications and forms are available at North Star NRRC and staff can assist individuals in completing the documentation.

Open six days a week, North Star Neighborhood Reentry Resource Center on E. 55th Street in Cleveland has a full calendar of events that help adults who are currently in the criminal justice system or who are returning from prison get on the right track. All services are free and available to all Cuyahoga County residents, 18 years of age or older.

For more information, visit North Star NRRC or call 216-881-5440.
