Rigel Recovery’s professional staff recognize that recovery is a journey and are passionate about helping you or your loved one each step of the way in treating your behavioral health needs. Our behavioral health services are available independent of the criminal justice system. Our team of licensed clinicians, chemical dependency counselors, nurse practitioners, case managers, and peer recovery supporters treat the disease of addiction and provide counseling for mental health. We take a comprehensive approach to treatment, helping you address your physical and mental health, relationships in your life, home and work needs, social and sober support systems, past trauma if necessary, and more. We meet you where you are in your recovery journey.
We also provide free information/support sessions for family members because we know behavioral health affects not only individuals, but also the people who love them.

Services
Our services, which our clinicians can discuss further with you include:
Withdrawal Management (Detox) Medication managed detoxification is often needed to begin treating substance use disorders. Detox from drugs or alcohol can be uncomfortable, but there are many ways individuals can receive inpatient or at-home withdrawal management support and medications to make symptoms more tolerable.
Inpatient withdrawal management is available in Summit County at the ADM Crisis Center and in Cuyahoga County at the Cuyahoga County Diversion Center. It generally takes 5-7 days to detox from drugs or alcohol, depending on the substance, dosage, and severity of addiction. Our nursing staff provides 24-hour supervision and administers medication to help alleviate the withdrawal symptoms.
For those with a supportive home environment, outpatient withdrawal management could be an option in Summit County through the ADM Crisis Center and in Seneca County through Rigel Recovery Services.
For detox admission information call:
- Summit County: 330-996-7730 (outpatient and inpatient at the ADM Crisis Center). Refer to the Summit County ADM Crisis Center Detox Flyer for additional information.
- Seneca County: 567-220-7018 (outpatient)
- Cuyahoga County: 216-623-6888 (inpatient at Cuyahoga County Diversion Center)
Assessments are conducted with a licensed counselor and they are used to determine treatment needs and establish a personalized treatment plan. They can be done in person or through telehealth and take about 90 minutes. Call 234-678-5720 to schedule an assessment in any of our service regions.
Walk in hours are available on a first come/first serve basis at our Rigel Recovery Services-Akron office located at 211 E. Glenwood Avenue on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Day Treatment (also known as a Partial Hospitalization Program) provides programming similar to what would be available in a residential setting, but on an outpatient basis. Participants spend four days each week participating in intensive treatment groups, mental health counseling, medication assisted treatment as needed, and meetings to further individualize recovery goals.
Outpatient Treatment can meet up to several times each week allowing participants to live at home and still attend school or work. Licensed counselors help participants understand the disease of addiction, manage triggers and cravings, and mend relationships.
Group sessions help participants discuss their thoughts about recovery with others who are experiencing similar challenges and successes.
In addition to group sessions, participants can benefit from one on one counseling.
Specialized treatment concentrating on trauma, sexual health, anger management, parenting, and other areas helps address specific topics.
Counseling is also available through telehealth technology.
Medication Assisted Treatment using the prescription medication Vivitrol (extended release naltrexone); Suboxone (buprenorphine); or Sublocade or Brixadi (injectable buprenorphine) is often the best choice for a person who is addicted to alcohol or opioids. Medications help manage cravings making it easier to focus on treatment. Research shows that medication combined with counseling and behavioral therapies can help people sustain recovery.
Aftercare provides continued resources following treatment to help support recovery.
Peer Support involves certified Peer Recovery Supporters assisting individuals, on a one-to-one basis, as they move into a life in recovery. They help in working toward personal goals, establishing links with community service providers, and provide personal experience of living in recovery.
Adolescent Services are available in our Southeast Ohio region with assessments and individual counseling. After-school appointments are available.
Mental Health Care addresses stress, anxiety, trauma, and other conditions that affect your emotional well-being. These services can be offered in tandem with substance use counseling as needed.
